Janie is 8 and is playing basketball at the YMCA. Sam is 12 and is playing on a club basketball team. Part of me wants to pick Janie up and cradle her in my arms like a little baby, and the other part realizes that she's growing up just as quickly as the older two did. How quickly the past 7 (almost 8) years have flown by. I am so thankful to God to have her in our lives. She is so full of life and energy, with such a great sense of humor. She is kind and thoughtful. Then, we went to Chris & Ashley's house for chili and games. At 7pm, we went to church for a beautiful candlelight service. The evening ended with our family watching "Christmas Vacation" by a cozy fire. It's all about sports in the Schowalter family these days. I rarely see the kids without a ball in their hands. Brooke typically has games twice per week. Sam has football games on Saturdays and baseball games on Sundays. Janie dances on Mondays. It's a busy schedule, but we love it! It's hard to believe that it's been 15 years. We are heading up to Traverse City this afternoon for a two-night stay in the condo on the East Bay. I can't wait. I'm looking forward to going out for a nice dinner and watching the vice-presidential debate tonight. I think tomorrow might include a couple's massage and some R&R.
